Viña Neighborhood
Cadiz, Old Town
The neighborhood of La Viña within the historic center of the city, is the most characteristic and busy especially in the months of Carnival and throughout the year in general for its location next to the Playa de la Caleta and its proximity to the Teatro Falla , Plaza Mina, Palillero, Candelaria, Alameda Apodaca and Genovés Park that make Cadiz the oldest city in Western Europe and the most visited in the summer months.
The name of the neighborhood is related to its past as a place where the vine was grown. From the 18th century the area began to be built, due to the strong demographic increase experienced in the city as a result of the boom in trade with America.
